Rudely awakened this morning at 6 by vervet monkeys dancing
on the roof tent; a smart rap or two on the ceiling sent them
scattering back into the branches from where they looked resentfully
down. Not for long though - they soon moved on to try to break into a
nearby tent
We've come north (via an area containing enormous Raphia Australis palms)
to another national park, this time in the World Heritage
iSimangaliso (Zulu for "miracle") Wetland Park, a 328,000 hectare
reserve. We went out this
afternoon on the St Lucia river (we're very close to the estuary to see the wildlife (of whose presence the small town is
very keen to remind you, to ensure that no one meets a sticky end either
walking around after dark
or by taking a dip at any time of the day.
